"The Favorites"

The exhibition "The Favorites" will open on October 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Mannheim’s
S null neun Pilotgalerie in E 3.16.

In his series Unter Aufsicht (2008), Clemens Bechmann explores the monitoring of nature, which sometimes takes on peculiar features. Bechmann traces both almost inconspicuous as well as radical interventions by the human hand.

In her project I Am. Paradox Identity (2005–08), Ilse Frech casts an intimate, personal glance at young Muslim women in the suburbs of Paris beyond the media-related clichés that accompany these women on a daily basis.

In VICE (1998-2004/2009), Dirk Rose attempts to prove that as a light double and composition model he is already part of existing pictorial worlds. In doing so, Rose penetrates a system of images in which he once replaced those portrayed.
